Classic Dutch Apple Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 pie crust for 9-inch pan (homemade or store bought)

→ Filling

02 - 6 cups apples, sliced and peeled
03 - 2 tablespoons lemon juice
04 - 1/2 cup sugar
05 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch
06 - 1 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice
07 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Crumb Topping

08 - 1/3 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
09 - 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
10 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
11 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

# Instructions:

01 - Place pie crust in deep 9-inch pie pan and flute edges. Preheat oven to 400°F.
02 - Combine filling ingredients in large bowl and toss until evenly coated. Spoon into crust, mounding apples toward center.
03 - Combine topping ingredients and mix with pastry blender or fork until crumbs form. Sprinkle over apples.
04 - Bake 45-55 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Cover with foil after 20 minutes to prevent over-browning.
05 - Cool on wire rack for at least 3 hours before slicing to allow juices to settle.
