Holiday Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 281g all-purpose flour.
02 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
04 - 170g unsalted butter, softened.
05 - 150g granulated sugar.
06 - 1 large egg, room temperature.
07 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
08 - 1/4-1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional).
09 - 360g confectioners' sugar.
10 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
11 - 2 teaspoons corn syrup.
12 - 4.5-5 tablespoons water.
13 - Pinch of salt.
14 - Optional: food coloring, sprinkles.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix flour, baking powder, salt. Beat butter and sugar 2 minutes. Add egg, vanilla, almond extract. Mix in dry ingredients.
02 - Divide dough in half. Roll each to 1/4-inch thick. Stack between parchment. Chill 1-2 hours.
03 - Heat oven to 350°F. Cut shapes. Bake 11-12 minutes. Cool completely.
04 - Mix sugar, vanilla, corn syrup, water. Whisk until proper consistency. Add food coloring if using.
05 - Apply icing to cooled cookies. Add sprinkles if desired. Let set 24 hours.
