Homemade Krispy Kremes Donuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
02 - 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
03 - 1/2 cup (120ml) warm milk
04 - 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, melted
05 - 1/2 tsp salt
06 - 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
07 - 1 large egg
08 - 3 to 3 1/2 cups (360-420g) all-purpose flour
09 - Oil for frying
10 - 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
11 - 1/4 cup (60ml) hot water
12 - 1 tsp vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Dissolve yeast in warm milk and stir in 1 tsp of sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
02 - In a large bowl, mix melted butter, remaining sugar, salt, nutmeg, and egg. Add the yeast mixture.
03 - Gradually incorporate flour until a dough forms. Knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
04 - Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
05 - Roll out the dough and cut into donut shapes. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
06 - Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Fry donuts until golden brown on each side.
07 - Mix powdered sugar, hot water, and vanilla extract for the glaze. Dip warm donuts in the glaze.
