Onion Beef Fried Rice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 cups cooked rice, preferably day-old and cold
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - 1 medium onion, chopped
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup mixed vegetables, such as carrots
06 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
07 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
08 - 1 teaspoon sesame oil
09 - Salt and pepper to taste
10 - Vegetable oil for frying

# Instructions:

01 - Use cold, day-old rice for best results. It’s less likely to clump and will fry up nicely.
02 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
03 - Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
04 - Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until they are tender-crisp.
05 - Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef and vegetables.
06 - Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to coat the rice evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
07 - Garnish with green onions or cilantro, if desired, and serve immediately.
