Fill a pot with water and add plenty of salt until it tastes like sea water.

Drop in the tortellini and cook until they float to the surface and become tender. This tells you they're done.

Drain the pasta and put it in a bowl. Add the marinated mozzarella with all its oil, chopped salami, and halved tomatoes.

Tear up some fresh basil leaves and toss them in. Add salt if needed and give everything a good mix.
