Sausage Pepper Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 16 ounce penne pasta.
02 - Salt for water.
03 - 1 pound ground Italian sausage.
04 - 1 red bell pepper, sliced.
05 - 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced.
06 - 1 onion, diced.
07 - 2 15-ounce cans diced tomatoes.
08 - 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning.
09 - Parmesan cheese for topping.

# Instructions:

01 - Boil pasta in salted water according to package. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.
02 - Brown sausage in skillet over medium-high heat about 6 minutes, drain excess fat.
03 - Add onions, cook 2-3 minutes. Add peppers, tomatoes, and seasoning, cook 8-10 minutes until peppers soften.
04 - Mix cooked pasta with sausage mixture in large pot.
05 - Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency. Top with Parmesan.

# Notes:

01 - Start pasta when adding peppers to time everything to finish together.
02 - Add pasta water gradually to achieve desired sauce consistency.
03 - Serve immediately for best results.
