Classic Beef Pasta Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat Sauce

01 - 1 lb ground beef, 15% fat
02 - 1 medium onion, finely diced
03 - 1 tsp salt
04 - 1/2 tsp ground cumin, optional, or added to taste
05 - 1/4 tsp black pepper
06 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
07 - 24 oz marinara sauce
08 - 1/4 cup water
09 - 1 tsp granulated sugar

→ To Serve

10 - 12 oz spaghetti

# Instructions:

01 - Place a pot or dutch oven over medium heat, add 1 lb ground beef and sautee, breaking it up with a spatula until no longer pink (5 minutes).
02 - Add chopped onion, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1/4 tsp pepper and sautee until onions are soft.
03 - Add garlic and sautee another 1-2 minutes until fragrant then pour in 1 jar of marinara sauce, 1/4 cup water and 1 tsp sugar. Cover and simmer over low heat 20 minutes.
04 - Meanwhile, cook 12 oz of spaghetti in salted water to desired doneness according to package instructions then drain. Serve sauce with cooked pasta.

# Notes:

01 - Can either toss pasta with sauce or serve sauce on top
02 - Freezer friendly for up to 3 months
03 - Ground cumin adds depth but is optional
