Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with the milk.

Pour half of the batter into a separate bowl and mix in cocoa powder.

Spoon batters into the prepared pan in alternating layers. Swirl with a knife to create a marble effect.

Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
